Land can obviously draw without using reference (I can't believe he got everything in his UFF run from photos), so hopefully this will stop him from using that particular crutch. It really drags his artwork down.

I wonder how much of this stems from Erik Larsen's column on this a few months ago? He made a couple of good points along hte lines of "if I copy a Beatles song, I have to pay for it but if I copy Jack Kirby's FF #1 it's an homage and Jack/Marvel get nothing". Should find the linky-link...
