Who should win? Thing/Sub-Mariner

I've been on a bit of a role getting some conversations going here, it's cool!

Five days ago I started a thread about Luke Cage and The Wrecker, and whether or not their battle in New Avengers was accurate in the general sense. For those wondering, we determined 11-8 that Cage should've beaten the Wrecker, so it was pretty close!

Prior to that there was a Luke Cage/Thing thread which really got all the versus talk back up and running. I love waxing these things, and I know they're generally perceived as cheesy thread ideas, but to me it's enjoying comcis!
It's about the characters we love, stories we enjoy, and just a good bit of fun. It's the sports bar debate of comics!

Thing versus Namor was touched on briefly before the Thing/Cage thread died out, and even though King of Mars made a thread today, I still wanted to get into this one.

Thing is obviously one of the most respected guys in Marvel, and we were able to really establish the fact that he's one of the biggest hearts too.
He's a major powerhouse fighter, but then again, so is the Sub-Mariner.
Namor has a twist of versatility, and a completely DIFFERENT motivation and way of having a lot of heart in a fight.

So, talk to me folks. Who should win a fight?

Namor. For the same reason he would beat Wonder Man.

Okay, I'll jump in on this one.

I think the Thing would win. Submariner is like an underwater Superman and all, but I think the Thing is a little bit stronger and the Submariner is a little more hot-headed that Ben and would lose his cool sooner.

In the other thread, DatLocoLatino talked about it being a super dry day.
I actually think Thing has the strength to, after a long scrap out fight, win the day. While Namor's definitely a BIG league hitter, I would put Thing in that class just above him, at least where strength is concerned.

Namor's got a lot of versatility, though, and there's always water.
I have to admit, initially I was erring toward Thing, but other arguments in the Cage/Thing thread won me over.

Yeah, you'd have to think (The Human Target, feel free to interject ), that the speed and maneuverability advantage that would give over Thing would be a pretty big deal.

Especially when Namor can fly around Thing, and then pick him up.

Namor. He has the strengh and invulnerability of Thing, but speed and flight as well. He should be able to use those advantages to win.

It really depends on where the fight is. On land, I think that Namor would start off a tiny bit stronger and has the advantage of flight, but I think the Thing is more durable and could take what Namor dishes out. I think that as time goes on, a land fight would favor the Thing and that he'd ultimately win over time. He just has too much heart to quit, and Namor doesn't have the Hulk's overwhelming strength to put him down. In water, there's no question. Namor would defeat him in water as easily as he does the Hulk.
