have any female characters been turned into male characters?

i was thinking about the new loki which reminded my of earth x thor. and that made me wonder if any notable characters have ever gone from woman to man and not just in that silly freaky friday kind of way. im thinking of a big as-permanent-as-comics-can-be female to male sex change. i cant think of any.

also, if someone did a book where they took a big female character and made her male, how do you think people would react? i think people are more likely to get mad over female to male sex changes in comics than male to female.

All I know is, no genderswap will ever top the two issues where Guy Gardner was a woman.

Dove was changed to a male in the Justice League Unlimited cartoon... but that was an out of story change in character design.
