Are any of the Young Avengers members of the tribe? Billy Kaplan and Teddy Altman sure sound like Jewish names to me...
(Love the book, by the way. And would be overjoyed if there turns out to be a successful gay, Jewish couple in the Marvel U.... Sort of gives me hope for my own social prospects...)

Oy vey! A gay Jewish boy and a nice young half-Kree, half-Skrull! (we think!) I'll have to loan Hulkling my copy of "What to Do When You're Dating a Jew". I could not have survived my first seder at our gay rabbi's house without it!
Too cool! Keep up the great work, Allan. BTW, were you raised Reform yourself?
So to push this a step farther... Why is it that the Jewish kid has now gone through 2 different codenames associated with other religions? I hope the name "Wiccan" doesn't stick. But if his next name has to have some sort of religious origin, why can't it be from his own heritage?

What would you suggest? Judaism ain't big on the sorcery.
Wicca is the masculine variation (feminine: wicce) of the Old English word from which the word witch was derived. Ergo it can be used without intrinscially religious connotations to the modern neopagan movement claiming Wicca as its name.
The OED records the earliest use of wicca (meaning: male witch) as being in Laws of Aelfred circa 890.
Given the all-embrasive nature of reform Judaism and the Wiccan religion (at least the fluffy bunny version of it), however, I'd imagine Billy could meld the two quite easilly if he so chose.
