Motor City Con

Anyone doing the Detroit con in May?
Bendis is too big league for it now, but there will be some other good folk there including Guy Davis.

A place for humans to gather and celebrate the creative ways that they have destroyed their WORLD? Count me out.

Re: Motor City Con

I haven't decided yet... this thing has really gone down over the past years. It was just 10 years ago when it was packed with comics people. Wil Eisner was there, Jim Lee & Wildstorm, Jeff Smith, Bendis and Mack in artist Alley... seriosuly, it was good times. Now it's the leftover scraps of the comic industry. The only thing that smells good in the place is the roasted almonds, and it's filled with sci-fi actor hasbeens and such. THe only person drawing me to this is David Carradine to sign some Kill Bill stuff but I'm afraid he'll pull out like last year... This is gonna be a last minute decision for me...

Re: Motor City Con

I would love to go, and am trying to work out if I have enough money for a trip up.

I used to live in Michigan for years, and really want to visit some friends up there, make a week out of it.

I did this con like 12 years in a row. It had some amazing glory days when Brian and I were just starting out. We used to drive to the con together every year and this show was always a fun one and full of mayhem.
We started going in 93 and used to also do the fall show as well.

I'm pretty sure Andy Lee will be there this year as well.

I would but I think My Bristol UK con plans interfere with it.

But go and say hi to Andy Lee for me.

I met Macmanyosi there last year.
