Huh. Never heard of those. It wasn't make the same sounds but it looks just like the talk box that Frampton used.

"It's just a little bit of electronics. And, uh, we put this with that, and we make it all work."

Thank you Roger Troutman, for that fascinating explanation of the technology. Just admit it's made of magic and fairy dust, you bastard!

The past five years? really? I think its heavy prominence over the last year or so has certainly felt like it's been five, but in actuality? no.

T-Pain was the first modern artist to use it well with pop audience appeal. And the man guested on a ton of tracks about two years ago. But he was the only person using it.

The floodgates didn't burst until 'Ye and Wayne started using it...to sing. A lot of artists were definitely liberated by those two deciding to go left like that.

So no, he didn't hop on a bandwagon.

I thought T-Pain just sounds like that.

I don't think this guy is a Jay Z fan. Also says Kanye didn't help produce the song DOA.

New song. I have to agree with (gasp) Pitchfork. Kanye takes the song. I hope his next album is rap and he puts as much into it as this.

Jay-Z may have pronounced Auto-Tune dead, but Buckshot and KRS-ONE buried it.
