maybe... he pitched a Thor story and the editors thought it was good and since they needed some fill-ins to make up for the schedule they thought, why not?

Personally, I think the second Fraction/Zircher Thor one-shot is better than any of JMS' stuff.

it's hard to compare a one shot to a run. both were amazing and fraction is going to be a great follow up to JMS.

Read that article in comic shop news about Milligan's new book Greek Street. He's known for eclectic work but seems to have a real interest in mythology. His Thor books might be a pleasant surprise.

I'm confused here. Why should we be questioning the chain of events that lead to Peter Milligan writing a book, regardless of what the particular book is?


Is this because of his run on X-MEN, which admittedly wasn't very good, but he's done plenty of other good stuff throughout his career to not look at this with skepticism.

I think it's a bit more shiny-happy than that. It's more than an event-type thing was on the horizon, he didn't think it would be best for him to stick around. You make it sound like he left in a huff, while everyone involved is talking like it was all friendly.

I don't recall saying he left the book in a huff. But he did say in the CBR interview that was his main reason for choosing to leave the title.
