A big thanks to all the folks that came by in Philly
I saw a lot of you from the board here at the show. Thanks for stopping by. Saw some new Kabuki tattoos (which I took pics of- keeps your eyes on davidmackguide.com), The Retro Girl Powers costume won the costume contest- congrats!
I did quite a few ink and brush sketches.
It was a delight to be signing by my fellow creators from this board.
I loved T-Dro's Little Friends Animal Friends shirt.
And I heard that a lot of people will be seeing us in Baltimore!
That looks like it is going to be a huge show.
Just a thanks to all the readers here who came by and made the show so great.

Re: A big thanks to all the folks that came by in Philly
It was great to see you again, David! And ya know - I am sooooo kicking myself!!! WHY didn't I ask for a sketch??! I never asked for one (from anyone) until this year - and I asked Choi because he said he thinks of me know when he draws Wolverine. (I'm traumatizing people, I think... ) I saw a couple sketches you did, and I'm pouting now. Ugh...next year, right?
I appreciated what you said about drawing...the process. And I had a question...
One of my problems with 'sketching' is my grip - my stiffness - not just in the pose itself, but in my hand and in my stroke. I always rest my hand on the paper when I draw, and I can't seem to achieve those looser, sweeping pencil strokes that loosen up the picture a bit. But when I try to hold my hand off the paper and sketch, I have no control. Any tips?

David,
I was flattered to meet you. It was the first con I have gone to and was very impressed by how nice and approchable you were.
I do have one complaint, I bought the first Kabuki trade, which I loved, but the thing fell appart on reading. I have had this problem with Image trades in the past and am curious about why.
Again I have to say I loved the book (I have just ordered the second volume) and thank you again for your kindness

Hi John,
I'm glad you had a good time at the convention and very glad to hear that you liked the book.
I haven't heard that about Image trades- Their Kabuki books seem to be pretty durable- but you may just have got a bum one. That is the one you picked up from me at the show, right? If so, I'll be happy to replace it for you.
Give me your address and I'll send you a new one, or if you prefer, I can give it to you in person if you are at an upcoming convention.
Glad to hear that you have ordered the next trade too. I like to think they get better.
Metamorphosis is my favorite Kabuki collection so far.
Best,
David

Re: A big thanks to all the folks that came by in Philly
Dave,
Just wanted to let you know that I finished reading Circle of Blood, and loved every page. I have not heard about the Image trades having that problem, but unfortunately, I had the same experience as "JohnEKalogerakos". The cover came off totally, luckily the glue is still holding together most of the pages.
Don't worry, I don't expect you to send me a replacement book, but I did want to ask if there is a HC I could buy instead of the TPB?
Let me know - again, loved the book and I can't wait to read Vol. 2.

Carlos,
I'm so glad you liked it.
I'm all out of the hardcovers. But I'll be happy to send you a replacement.
I'll order a new batch of them from Image to get it from, in case I got a box from the printer that had a glitch.
What is the next convention that you are at? I can give you there, or mail it.
Also, thanks for scanning the drawing I did for you and posting on your con post here.
