i'm definitely looking forward to picking this one up, david. hope to eventually get all of the books in hardcover so that i can loan out my soft covers to people.
you were missed at emerald city con, by the way. look forward to seeing you in chicago.
Oh, thanks, man. I really did want to go to Em City. I missed it too! As well as you, Tim, and all the amazing board members I met there last year.
It looks like I will be back at Emerald City next year.

Well, I had 6 tpbs. I lent them out to friends, and over the years they have all been lost.
I probably wouldn't spend the money again for 6 tps.
But, for a few OHC or a couple/three Omnibae , I would gladly 'double dip'.
Again, I would prefer (and gladly pay for) something oversized, as it would keep the uniformity of releasing the latest one out in OHC format.
Speaking of double dipping, I had to go back to DCBS and order a limited edition kabuki (on top of the regular one) because I really wanted a sketch (haven't made it to a show to pick up more of your art for quite some time now......do you have a distributor/agent/person/website to sell your art online ?)
but yeah, gladly would splurge on kabuki related HC's. Oversized.
Thanks Shwicaz,
That is very helpful to know. Especially coming from someone like you who is a retailer, and a reader, and gets them as gifts.
I appreciate people here letting me know their preference for format on this.
I'd definitely double dip on these as well. Granted, I've bought a few of the tpbs a couple of times, some I've literally read to the point to where they started falling apart, and some because I've lent them out to people who I thought would appreciate the stories. But yeah, I would absolutely love Hardcovers in the same size format as some of Marvel's OHCs. A book like Kabuki deserves the best presentation possible.
I mean, hell, I'd even splurge for slipcase oversized editions that were like the Sandman Absolute Editions, regardless of if they cost $100 or not. Because to me, they're more than comics, they're art, and it'd go well alongside both my comics as well as my artbooks of people like Wyeth, Leyendecker, Struzan, or Mucha.
