    Dresden Files

So, the ads for this on Sci-Fi looked pretty interesting, and I just found out it's a series of novels. Anybody read 'em? Anybody heard anything good/bad about the upcoming series?

I hadn't heard it was going to be on sci-Fi. I just ordered the first book off of Amazon, but I have heard good things from friends...

Yeah - it's going to be ongoing series (I think). It will be coming on right before Battlestar Galactica.

    Re: Dresden Files

the first book is very average. they get better with each progressive one. it's kind of like a comic in that each book is largely self-contained but if you read them all in order you can very much see him building up some steam towards something.

by book 3 or 4, he's rivaling early Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake.

The books don't really hold much interest for me, but I'm hoping the series turns out well. It'll be nice to have something new to watch.

I've heard the books are really good....though I've never read any of them. The commercials for the show look pretty good...so I'm gonna check it out.
