Wow.. has there ever been a good show based on a movie, other than MASH?

This thing reminded me of the American Red Dwarf. Strip all that is good from the original, make it formulaic and bingo! Instant flop.

But what's great about the American Pilot was that the producers thought they could get away with the same style budget. You know Cardboard and paint sets that the Brits understands in a campy sorta stage-play way and American's are like WTF is this.
