All I know is that for some reason iTunes says that my iPod software is out of date and some thing may not have been copied, which is weird because if I try to update it it says it's up-to-date.
I've been trying to update for months, but every time I did, I'd get an error message saying that the installer couldn't find the QuickTime.msi file, or that it was in the wrong place. I tried to remove QuickTime so I could reinstall it with iTunes, but I add/remove wouldn't take it out.
I finally had to spend a bit of time Googling a solution, and I found a utility on Microsoft's support site that helped me get rid of at least PART of QuickTime -- enough to get a succesful install going.
I only had one glitch, saying there was a file that the install wizard couldn't overwrite -- so I located it in the QuickTime program folder and deleted it. Hit "retry", and it went smoothly from there.
Holy Jesus Christ on a stick, that was way too hard.
