First off, my wife cracks me up. She sees my Aquaman comics and says, "Is Aquaman really a character, I thought they made him up for Entourage?"
Anyway, I've read issues #40-43. It started off pretty slow and the art was vague and murky at times making it hard to "see" what's going on, but that could be intentional and the story is starting to pick up. Essentially, we've got a new guy named Arthur Curry who everyone mistakes for Aquaman, which he says could be his outfit and look (you think?) and he's so far met King Shark and Mera, been challenged to a duel, drunk, hit on and almost robbed by some mermaid stripper, and met Vulko who's a ghost that mystically googled him to the Windward Home. Did I mention it's a little odd?
I have up through issue 46 already, but think I'll read it at least until #49 (Busiek's last issue) if not give the new guy a shot on #50.

No,but I'm reading his Superman with Pacheco, which is much better than the other overhyped Superman book (no not All Star)
Up until 1960 Aquaman's origin was that he was a son of a scientist who made it so he could breath under water. In 1961 they added the Atlantis part of his origin. Brave & the bold #28 was the first time he ever appeard on a cover, it was with the rest of the JLA.
So this current Aquaman is more like the original than the 1961-2005 Aquaman.
