I've got to say, I really, really enjoyed this one.
It was awesome to get an insight into the minds of all the characters; I found Monet's scene particularly moving. Great jumping on point for new readers, and it's a wonderful way of tying up the past 12 issues and even events before that.

    10/10

Re: BB Review Group week 106 - X-Factor #13 (spoilers)

It was interesting. I really love what PAD is doing with the title, it's one of the best series going right now. These are characters I felt nothing for previously, and a few I didn't like at all. And now I really like and enjoy them and can't wait to see where thier story goes.

This issue in particular was interesting but a bit boring. Reading that many character summaries one after the other feels more like reading a 'who's who' handbook than a story. The art was top notch though.

I did have one major problem but it was beyond the creators control, it's the same old Marvel problem. Monet is talking about how it's an effort not to kill herself and then suddenly "BUY OUR VIDEOGAME". I'm just getting into the conversation of Maddox explaining how memmory works and "BUY OUR CAR". 26 full page ads, 4 of them 2 page spreads is too much saturation for me. I'm not bitching just to bitch. It honestly damages my experience as a reader and fan of the book.

*sigh* oh well. How to grade this? I guess I'd go an 8. As a stand alone issue it wasn't as exceptional as I was hoping it might be. But because of the strengh of the run up til now and my level of interest in these characters I still enjoyed this quite a bit.

    10!

This has to be the best line-up to ever bless an X-team. Loved seeing how the characters felt about their first year, and I can't wait to see the love triangle and this whole horrible future storyline play out.

    9.5.

Having read X-Factor 87 recently, this issue was doubly excellent. Loved the Pietro and Rahne references, and the whole thing was great.

I love having Pablo on the title. His art is perfect.

I can't choose a favorite bit because the whole issue was just awesome.

All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom... so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!

It wasn't an even split? I got the variant too but that's just what was in my pull box.

Re: BB Review Group week 106 - X-Factor #13 (spoilers)

I want to preface this by saying how insanely jealous I am towards Peter David. When you get older, your skill and talent is supposed to go down, not UP!

This was a great issue. Not amazing, but great nonetheless. I think I got a little too hyped up about it, but the original X-Factor "shrink" issue is an absolute classic just for the fact of how original and ahead of its time it was. X-Factor #13 didn't really blaze any new ground like I hoped it would, but still told quite the story.

Monet's segment is what made this a great issue to me. David's knowledge and respect for her past history is just amazing, I mean I never once thought about how Banshee's death might have affected her and I used to own every issue of Generation X. That level of writing is just stunning.

Every other character was well done, I particullary enjoyed Quicksilver and Guido's segments. I daresay since Son of M Pietro has become one of the most interesting characters in all of comics.

Pablo Raimondi WILL be an A-level artist before all is said and done. I was one of Dennis Callero's biggest supporters, but Marvel could not have found a better replacement. I re-read this right after I first got done reading it just to gawk at each page.

All in all, this was yet another reason why X-Factor is one of the best books on the stands today.

    8 out of 10.
Wii Friend Code: I haven't turned on my Wii since May 17, 2008. One of the worst consoles I've ever owned, and I had a Jaguar.

I haven't liked FNSM very much, but I'm in love with PAD's X-Factor (even though I'm a little lost) This issue was superbly done, getting into the minds of these characters.
