The trailer looks like Dungeons and Dragons 2, sadly.

Honestly...couldn't get pass the second paragraph on the first page.

And I bought BOTH books through Diamond and my store.

The trailer for the film does look stunning...as long as no one, other than Jeremy Irons, speaks a word of dialogue during it.

i liked the books. they wern't awe inspiring but they were halfway decent so i'm gonna give the movie a try. The game though looks like shit (the demo for the 360 was less than stellar IMO)

so i liked the books and will give the movie a watch based on that but im still friggen pissed that the cute elf chick has no friggen elf ears

From everything I have ever heard, those books are pretty much the most cliche fantasy novels ever.

That being said, I'm sure I'll watch this when they play it on Sci-fi next fall.

Aw man. i really dig the books. i wouldn't call them great books. Like Ender's Game for example. But i thought they were really good. i defintely thought they were better than the Tolkein books. The Eragon books are a bit lengthy, but every page is filled with actual story. No taking twenty pages to descige how an imp looks. If you haven't read then you should really give them a try. As for the game. i don't give a crap about the game because games based on a movie to meet the movies schedule always sucks. But i do hope the movie is good.

They ran a commercial several times during the World Series.

Really? i didn't watch it because my team sucked this year. But i wish i had seen a trailer. And i won't try to download one because i have dial up. So i guess i'll just have to wait.
