    Top 5 Contemporary Artists/Cartoonist?

    Who are your 5 Favorites?

Try and choose artists that havent been in the business for that long.

    Here are mine:

    1. Jeffrey Brown
    2. Kevin Huizenga
    3. Sammy Harkham
    4. Jonathan Bennett
    5. Paul Hornschemeier

I could name 6 more but I'll leave it at that.

Jeffrey Brown is about my favorite cartoonist working now. I love his work. Kevin Huizenga puts out amazing comics. Sammy Harkham is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Jonathan Bennett is becoming my shinning star for MOME, his work has been stellar so far. His contribution is the one I look forward to the most. Paul Hornshcemeier also has amazing MOME output

i've seen Ron Rege and Anders Nilsen and Marc Bell in more East coast exhibitions than any of them

and don't for a second think that just because Spelielman, Burns, Ware, or Panter made it big means that they aren't still on the cusp of this shit we call sequential art

I would love to see a show with Panter, that would be fucking great.

    Tomine
    Kochalka
    Ware
    Nilsen

    ...for now.

I want to put Bennet as well, but I want to wait until (if) he puts out a seperate work.

Very nice list. Cendreda is quite good.

And he's been VERY nice to me, so that's a hell of a plus.

I realize Kochalka and Tomine are sort of old standards but I'll still be first in line for their next books.

I'm glad this has been indie artists so far. Quite pleased.

    In no particular order

    1. Eddie Campbell
    2. David Mack
    3. David B.
    4. Paul Hornschemeier
    5. Jason Lutes

Sorry to break the indie theme a bit.
