How can you have a payroll that huge and not have any pitchers? And I think a manager's job is to get them into the playoffs. Once they are there it's on the players to perform.
So the day after the Yankees were elimanated the Daily News ran the cover story that Joe Torre would be fired from manager of the Yankees. Today's Post said that Torre isn't going yet. Confirmation came on WFAN today:
"01:12 PM - News: Torre Will Manage Yanks in 2007
...posted by Matthew Cerrone...
For what it’s worth, WFAN reports that Joe Torre has recently told the media that he and George Steinbrenner agree that Torre will manage the Yankees in 2007…"
Personally I see no reason for the Yankees to fire Joe Torre. He had no pitching. Brian Cashman should be fired. Worst.GM.Ever.
But that's just me. Well, anyway:Yankees suck.![]()

Incompetance. Stainbrenner's hard on for collecting all stars instead of assembling an actual team?Originally Posted by WillieLee

Fine. Whatever.
It's amazing the Yankees get more attention than all four teams that are still playing. I don't care what they do, its just nice that they haven't won the World Series in the last several years. I hope it stays that way.
Go Tigers.
