Thread: Don't You Love It When...

  1. #1

    Don't You Love It When...

... people try to praise All-Star Batman and Robin, saying that its a parody, and that its supposed to be badly written, or something like that? Its not a parody, people. The Dark Knight Strikes Again was a parody.

    This is just bad writing.
So should I cut the blue wire, the red wire or the FIESTA WIRE?

I dont think its a parody, I just like it. No reason I suppose I just enjoy reading it.

But we're wrong for liking it. Our opinions don't matter.

Yeah, I know. And its cool if you like it, I guess. And I don't read it. This thread wasn't that much about the book being bad, rather than people trying to defend it by saying that the book is about poking fun at superhero clichés, and the what-not. It just isn't.

Don't you love it when people completely try to negate one's opinion and feel theirs is somehow superior?

Anyway, I've been one of the biggest supporters of All Star Batman. You know how I know it's a parody of grim-'n-gritty superheroes? 'Cause Frank Miller fucking said it. That and it drips of sarcasm.

It's also fun to see a Sin City-esque pulp take on Batman. If you think it's bad writing, that's your opinion dude. But guess what: it's just that, an opinion.

Seriously, I'm a bit cranky this morning, but I stand by what I typed.

But it doesn't matter if Frank said it was a parody, this man knows it's not.
