Loving this title. Read the first series and felt like it was one of the best books out on the market that people weren't reading.

Okay, my LCS sucks and I had to wait till last week to get issue 6 and 7 but whatever. That's gonna change soon since Andreas pointed me toward his LCS which has a great online subscription service.
I subscribed to Fallen Angel more because JK Woodward is the artist than because I knew the DC version (I didn't really. Just browsed the first three issues). JK was at Ronin briefly and he's an amazing artist so it was kind of a weird loyalty thing even though I've never talked to him.
Anyway, the first arc was dragging a bit so I was thinking about dropping it even though the end of the first arc was quite cool and the art is amazing. But then I got around to reading issues 6 and 7 today and now I'm hooked on the story as well! Total change of scenery in this two issue arc with a flashback of Lilandra's first few days as a fallen angel. The art's different, too, more comicy than in the first arc, though still painted. It's cool to see JK experiment with his style. Looking forward to #8 now!
Props to the IDW peeps for the CSI: Dying in the Gutters preview, btw. That's some funny shit.![]()

"I am free of all prejudices. I hate every one equally."
The first arc of the IDW Fallen Angel maybe did drag a little in the middle, but HOLY HELL issue #5 made up for all of it with one of the best payoffs in recent times.
6 and 7 were quite awesome as well, it was so cool to see Lee outside of her normal element. With the exception of Kate Spencer, I consider Lee to be the best written female character (heck.... just straight up best character) in comics today.
I just got 8 today, can't wait to read it based off the cover alone. How surreal is that?
I loved the first IDW arc. Loved it. Of course, I read it all in one sitting, and I didn't think it dragged at all.
Then again, PAD had me with volume 1 at DC.
It's an intriguing book, with beautiful artwork. It's unlike anything PAD has ever done before. It's just awesome.
glad you're on board completely now. I'm enjoying the second series even more than the first.
Yea, It's a great book. I'm loving how quick things are moving along now.
Yeah, issue 5 really did pay off. I'm hoping that we get a change of pace now and that 6/7 weren't just a one-off story. The way the first arc ended, the world's now open to Lilandra.
How much was her past explored in the first series? (I wish DC collected all of those issues in trades).
Virtually nothing.Originally Posted by Tom Mauer

Hmmm, that gives me hope we'll get more of it now then.![]()
Glad to see Sachs and Violens FINALLY made their appearance![]()
