Wow, man. Just fucking wow. Wonder how often criminals here in the states use this method. I have a pretty heavy duty chain lock on my door to make me feel a little safer at night (not to mention the Sig) but I guess deadbolts and security doors on the building do nothing if someone really wants to get in. I'm going to have to try this myself.

well, i can tell you that unless you have a metal door and a metal frame, you're not going to have much security against anybody that really wants to get in.

a door is only as strong as its frame, doesn't matter what kind of lock you have on it. you can have a $600 baldwin lock and it will be easily defeated by a well-placed boot to the door causing the frame to burst.

besides, even if the door/frame are metal, the windows sure aren't.
most doors and locks are only there to keep the honest folks out.

of course, one can spend a shit-ton of money and get high security, but that's not really an option for most people.

Yeah, you're totally right. For a little extra comfort I have alarms on all the windows and doors and that noise would certainly give me a little extra time to get my piece. I don't really live in a bad neighborhood so I'm not exactly too worried, but it's better to be a little safer than sorry.

Wow, do lots of Americans really have guns in their house? I thought that was just made up in movies in Michael Moore documentaries. Would you really use it on somebody? Have you ever had to pull it out?

This is not meant to sound like an attack. I'm just curious.

Is crime over there at a point where you really need a gun?

Yes, a lot of Americans have guns.

    No, you don't need one.
