I am glad to see him say "fill-ins suck"! He finally is coming around to what others have said while he's played rotating artists for years. That sounds like he agrees with me that the mismanagement of Thor's last title artistically was the reason he had to be cancelled.

I am all for 8 issues a year and a special side project featuring the character for 4-6 issues by some super popular artist that will sell like gangbusters.

Everybody would be happy. Sales would be better, runs wouldn't be interupted (and it does kill momentum, regardless of how good the artist filling in is), and they wouldn't be compromising the artistic integrity on any of their books.

Seriously, after this, how on Earth will they be able to justify putting a book out that's drawn by a fill-in artist and expecting anybody to pay 3 dollars for "inferior" product?

He's right about fill-in artists. Once a company gets behind an 8-ball like this, they are damned if they do, damned if they don't. At least by keeping the same creative team, the memory of this debacle can fade; fill-in art is a permanent reminder of it. Witness the fact that snarky comments are still made about Igor Kordy's fill in work every time Marvel reissues New X-Men reprints.

But what's worse, a fill-in artist, or an indefinite delay impacting the flow of the story. Some of us don't want to wait until the fucking trade comes out.

Example: I loved Secret War. But I thought it REALLY suffered from the delays.

    I'm buying!

This is actually Loeb's first Marvel work under the new deal, huh? I'm looking forward to seeing what all three writers do with it.

I disagree. Consistent art is nice and all, but I read comics for the story. A change of penciler is not the worst thing in the world.

I agree, but the change would've been really jarring in Secret War.
