    Stray Bullets

I know I'm WAY late in discovering this, but I found books 1-6 for three bucks a piece at a used bookstore so I had to pick them up to see what all the fuss is about.

MAN...JEEZE...This is some serious shit right here. Depressing as hell, really, but incredbly done. Gorgeous artwork that brings to mind the work of Toth and Mazzuccelli. I'm intrigued by the relationships and how all the characters connect. Amazing.

I'm notquite sure where Amy Racecar fits into all of it. I have always heard great things about the series and Amy's character in particular, but I kind of felt her stories detracted from th rest of them. Unless I'm sriously missing something.

But, yeah...ell worth the hype that surrounds it.

They are more of a lark for the most part, but you do find out later exactly where they come from (although it's fairly obvious from the start).

I'm under the impression that Amy is a fabrication of Ginny's...

You are right. Much later in the series you get to see her actually writing the stories and making little comics with a boy she meets.

AH! Okay then...Mainly I got that impression after she tells Beth (Beth? I want to say Beth) that her name is "Amy"...i kinda went...AAAHHHH YES!

I find myself feeling quite concerned for the characters. Some of the chapters had me literally on the edge of my seat...

I've been reading this for years and it's one of the jewels of my collection, and Amy Racecar could be the best fictional character ever created.

How far along are you? Brace yourself, it gets disturbing and heart-pounding when Ginny gets out to California.

I just recently got the first trade myself after years of wanting to read it. It really is superb work.
