I killed my IPOD. :(

ok, this bites.

I run Windows 2000. I had the ipod plugged in and then I restarted the computer with the ipod plugged in.

The computer restarted and saw my ipod as a hard drive and reformatted it.

I still have my library on my computer, but now when I plugged in my ipod it shows blank. no songs. Yet it says that theres only 3 gigs left, so I have 17 gigs that cant be accessed.

Any way to reformat the ipod where I will have all 20 gigs back to reload my library.?

I think you can re-format the ipod via ipod for windows, and then just transfer all your music from itunes back over again.

And dude, windows 2000? Get XP man.

if it's been reformatted then your songs are long gone, you may have some luck using a Live OS CD Distro to boot your computer, but then you'd have to be able to pull the songs off of the ipod

why on earth do you not have songs backed up somewhere on your PC?

can't you reset the ipod? i think you do it by holding the menu button and center button at the same time. but do not try this on my word!

I do have my library still. Its all on the computer. just not on the ipod now. the ipod doesnt have the maximum space (20 gig) like it should though...it only has what was left on it, even though there are no songs on it.
