Oasis' album Definitely Maybe has been named the Greatest Album of All Time.
A poll of 40,000 music fans voted for the iconic 90s album which featured hits such as Slide Away, Cigarettes & Alcohol, Live Forever and Supersonic.
Definitely Maybe, which cost £85,000 to produce, was released on August 30 1994 and became the fastest-selling rock debut, reaching Number One a week later, with seven million copies selling worldwide.
The Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band was second and their Revolver album was third in the survey organised by the book of British Hit Singles and Albums and NME.com.
Votes came from as far afield as New Zealand, Croatia and Colombia.
Radiohead's OK Computer was fourth while Oasis's second album (What's the Story) Morning Glory? was fifth. Only two bands from the US made the Top 20 - Nirvana's Nevermind, in sixth place and The Strokes' Is This It, in 20th.

You know, it's really nice to provide a link to what you are talking about. It helps people get a perspective on which source is considering this the greatest album of all time. Because there are many possible sources, each with their own fan base, each with their own opinions on the greatest album of all time. I'm a HUGE Oasis fan, and I love Definitely Maybe, but even I don't think it's the greatest album of all time!! Gah!
Revolver is a good one...I would probably put one of the Beatles albums in that slot... hmmmm...

I'm suprised Rubber Soul isn't in the top 10 - that one is every bit as good as Revolver, IMO.
