Why did Marvel give Darick Robertson such a hardtime?

DARICK ROBERTSON: I feel a lot of frustration and regret when I look back. Not unlike breaking up with a girl who you loved but cheated on you all the time. I still think the Marvel characters are great, but I was never given the time and support I needed to achieve my potential at Marvel.

For my own art to grow, I really needed to be inking my own stuff and to slow down a bit, and focus on one book. Wildstorm is giving me that opportunity where Marvel seemed to just want me to draw faster and faster without losing quality.

There was a lot of pressure and little communication about what was next. That insecurity started affecting my work and I just lost enthusiasm for anything there, feeling it was futile to put any real heart into my work, as they would ultimately just censor anything challenging. In the MAX days I had a place at the table and when the shift went back to status quo, I was not feeling welcome anymore.

Why was he rushed and other artists given ALOT more time to work?

To be fair, I think it was more the books they had him drawing. Like Nightcrawler. It was a great book, but it was never going to last.

In a perfect world, he would have been the regular artist on The Punisher with Garth Ennis. He and Ennis had great chemistry together.

To be fair, if that's the case, then he'd have a reason to be pissed, because they seemingly accomidate for everybody else...

I got from it that he was the go to guy for a while because he was faster than most but when he did need time he wasnt supported like say Adi Granov,Hitch,or Hairsine.

That's why I'm looking forward to their book The Boys. Ennis and Robertson do make a great team.
