my niece took the fall for me last night

so my wife has been hiding this large bag of peanut M&M's from me, cause she knows I'll eat them all. but my 16 year old niece, whom we adopted from Korea, knew where they were. so I asked her yesturday where I could find them and she told me, and I went and ate the bag of remaining M&M's. well later that evening when my wife got home from college she went to go find her m&m's and discovered an empty bag. so she asked my niece what happened to them and my niece told her that she ate them (to spare me a possible, mild chewing out), but my wife being the clean freak that she is, then demanded to know why she put an empty bag back into the cupboard instead of the garbage! my niece paused...then said she did that too- what a good kid, she took the heat for me twice!
I'm not the most cleanest guy, and certainly can't keep up with a Korean woman when it comes to good housekeeping. I'm surprised my wife believed her since my neice is pretty damn clean as well. we had a good laugh at that when she told me later on and I told her I owed her one.
well, I did tell her when she first came to America to live with us, that rule number #1 was never rat out uncle to aunt. she passed.

What in the world is it with girls and KEEPING candy? My girlfriend will buy a bag on candy, eat a couple of pieces, and then hide the rest for (much) later. Then of course, I find the bag, eat it all, and get chewed out. Candy is for eating all at ONCE dammit!
