22 years ago, they were pioneers.
for the life of me, i cant understand why these guys are so popular..... they seem so average to me...
is there something i'm not getting? are these guys the supposed "saviors of rock"(God, how i loathe that expression.....)
Pick up Mother's Milk - things will be made clear. If you don't rock out to their cover of "Higher Ground", you have no soul.
After that, they hit cruise control for the most part, but Milk (and it's predecessors) show what they were capable of.

I've never been more disappointed in a follow up than I was with Blood Sugar. Mother's Milk hit me at a perfect time and I literally wore the cassette out. Blood Sugar just left me shaking my head, wondering where the mojo went. I suspect, however, that a lot of that could be the difference between what a 19 year old liked and what a 21 year old was then into.Originally Posted by mattbrand
