Stop after Season 4. Sorkin leaves and it becomes a soap opera.
So I've been watching reruns of this on Bravo. And now I'm in love with it.
Discuss.

And they all start acting like republicans too. But right up to there it was one of the best shows on TV.Originally Posted by Kirblar

Fuck. So its not worth watching now?
Next season they have only 1-3 returning castmembers, as they're "changing administrations" because A) the show has a MASSIVE budget right now with all the high-paid actors and B) NBC can't develop any decent shows, so they're running their existing ones until the ratings collapse on them (Law & Order, West Wing, Joey, ER)Originally Posted by The Human Target

I enjoyed it after season 4 - it does take them a little while to decide their direction. Season 6 ended up being really, really good, but not the same show at all as it was when the series began.
Has anyone listened to the audio commentaries for the 4th season on dvd? In the commentary for 25, Sorkin talks about what he would have done to resolve the 4th season cliffhanger as opposed to what they actually did.
Yeah, I was going to mention this too. I remember seeing "25" in syndication after having seen how Wells finished the story, and thinking, "You know, Nancy's making some arguments here that really can't be dismissed..." and yet, that's just what happened over the transition from Sorkin to Wells. It just pisses me completely off that Sorkin wasn't able to finish it off the way he intended. Even more now that I know what he was going to do - it would have made such a better story that would have had an actual point to it!Originally Posted by chamber715
But, no, money is always the bottom line - or, actually, the misguided hope of potential money in this case, and something tells me they didn't end up benefitnig a whole lot from pushing out Sorkin (and only about twelve episodes before he was planning on leaving on his own terms anyway).

I think the West Wing is fucking awesome. I got into it too because of the reruns on Bravo, but when I started watching this past season, OMG, am I still in love with this show.
This season's finale left me jumping up and down in excitement for the next season. I'm rooting for a Santos/McGarry win!!!
