Are we talking about meeting someone online, and then arranging to meet them in person, followed by a normal relationship? Those can work out just the same as any other relationship.

But if we are talking about meeting someone over the internet, and having a "relationship" over the net, never really meeting, but still claiming that you are in a "relationship"...well, those are doomed from the start.

Cathy and I met in a sex chat room. Not that we "got it on" there right away, we saved that til I got home. Until then we just talked about stuff and got to know each other.

See, the funniest part of it was that I was there to talk to my boyfriend at the time, who was living in Mass. Colin and I hated each other when we first met online -- I wouldn't go near him. I thought he was a complete asshole. I didn't even consider him a human being until the day he told me he got into a car accident.

I ended up breaking it off with the boyfriend two days before I went to meet Colin in Ohio.
