Thanks, I never knew what happened to the old boards, I just heard about them!
On this day one year ago today, people were arguing about whether Rancherchic was pronounced like “chick” or like “sheek”. DRMachine, who went by a different name, was a couple of days away from reaching 10000 posts, a feat of which he bragged he would never accomplish. I am sure there were many notable events going on, but most of these I do not recall. At some point in the afternoon, we got a new moderator who called himself Eric Cartman. As the story goes, first all of the “the”s changed to “teh”. Not having been around myself, I don’t recall much of the rest of it. It soon became apparent that the days of carefree posting not only in the Bendis forum, but in all of Image Message Boards were being brought to a halt. Mr. Cartman was a hacker who destroyed the Image Boards with ease, and they would never come back the same again.
For whatever reason, Bendis felt that his forum was of value to him. Enough so that he was anxious to bare the expense of it on his own. Within a matter of hours, the Bendis Forum was opened for posting at Jinxwold. Great many of the regular posters on the forum never missed a beat. It was obviously not a completely smooth transition. It soon became obvious that the enigmatic administrator know as NEWS! Had to put in many an hour to accommodate the huge unexpected increase in traffic. After weeks of hard work and a change of servers and software, Mr. NEWS! had the Bendis board back running possibly better than ever. Soon forums were added for many of Bendis’ collaborators and the Jinxworld Forums became pretty much the nuthouse it is today.
So I wanted to give a quick thanks to BENDIS! and NEWS! for all of their efforts in keeping this thing together and giving the poor unfortunate souls that congregate here the chance to maintain the relationships we had made at Image, and the opportunity to foster new ones. And thanks to the moderators and everyone else here who makes this community what it is.
But especially BENDIS! and NEWS! Thank you!

Yeah thanks Bendis for the board staying up. I didn't know all that happened. I just knew that it was gone and then came back. I remember such great threads as So I'm dating a werewolf and who's going to get drunk at Wizard World.
Remember when DrMachine created a Bought/Thought thread, got it stickied, then renamed it as the OFFICIAL Wizard World LA thread?

I read back then and wrote a couple of times, but the people who came over here are way cooler. I think alot of the crappy people hung out at the image boards and didn't move over here. Thank God!
I remember teh day clearly....it was just a few days away from teh wwla...I will mourn those that we lost
