If I buy "52" would i know the DC universe?

I think i cannot resist the Batman and Detective OYL books, and the Spectre book, and such
But 52 is really tempting to get into as well as the art looks stunning. But I don't know very much of the inner universe
But if i do, would I?

Yeah, this is supposed to be a huge overview of the DCU, from many different angles. You'll see it from the street-level vigilante's perspective, the civilian's perspective, the superhero's perspective, the villain's perspective, and others.
