Saw a TPB (Roleplay) at my local bookstore and bought it on a whim. This was before I was reading any comics at all, really.
I think it was issue 11 or 13 that I started reading Powers. The issue that Warren Ellis plays a writer in the issue on a ride-along with Prilgrim and Walker.
I piocked it up because of the ending. No one would reveal it, they just kept saying "you have to read it" so I bought it to see what the hype was about. A bit let down, but the issue was good. I loved the art, and started bought the "WKRG" trade.

This space intentionally left blank.
I was a caliber fan going back to Guy Davis' punk-breakthrough "Baker Street." So I was already picking up Bendis stuff. So I started with issue 1.
Thought that was #7. About the time I joined.Originally Posted by Donal
I can't remember the issue number, but, that was the issue. The Ellis ride-along.

I bought the first trade last summer. I had been thinking about getting into it for about a year. Loved the first trade, and so bought the rest.
I picked up issue #1 and didn't like it. A couple years later I decided to buy the first tpb and ended up reading the series ever since.
I was reading B long before Powers, so it was just another one of his book to pick up. Grabbed #1 and ran from there.

Wizard hyped it so much I felt obliged to see it, like a bug summer hollywood movie that doesn't look so good but you see anyways. I picked it up and like it quite a bit and read it up until shortly after the monkey-fucking issue. (not neccearlly because of the monkey fucking, though)
