Rowan Atkinson has teamed up with Simon McBurney, the actor-director behind innovative legit troupe Theatre de Complicite, to develop Bean 2, which is likely to shoot later this year. Complicite has a rep for groundbreaking physical theater that combines highbrow themes with comedic elements. I know their was a rumor when the whole "Freddy vs. Jason" film came out that Miramax wanted to do a "Candyman vs. Hellraiser". I think Clive wisely opted against that. He didn't want either of those 2 characters to sell out for a commercial gain. He is very strongly interested in "CANDYMAN 4". That problem that is going on much like many backstage workings, is determining who owns the "CANDYMAN" franchise. Which is strange to me because it's Clive's Character? But in dividing the first "CANDYMAN's" profits, the ownership went from Propaganda, to Sony, to Columbia, then to Artisan. Then Artisan became Lions Gate. As soon as it's all straightened out and it's determined who has to be paid before the film even gets written, then the movie will move forward. But he has every intension and knows how much these fans really appreciate a true horror classic. We've been in active discussion about doing it. I know it will take place in New England. It will take place in a woman's college. I know we're going to use the seasonal elements such as snow. We're just waiting for the Go-Ahead to move forward. Hopefully it will be shot sometime next year. We're not gonna let it go. And if for some reason we can't get the character back from the powers that be, then we're going to re-create it. One way or another, Clive and I will be working together again. I can absolutely assure the fans of that."

He was prevented from making the deal at the Pelican. Wild Bill, scared, nearly kills him and gets the phone call he's dreading. It's his boss, the Machine, who already knows about the botched sale at the Pelican. Wild Bill, extremely motivated, tells his crew they must rectify the situation at the Pelican quick. Art Linson, who produced the original, will produce the prequel with John Linson. "The Untouchables" was also a 1959-63 TV series starring Robert Stack as Ness. Both the series and the De Palma feature were based on the novel of the same name by Oscar Fraley. The prequel will concern Capone and the early version of Irish cop Jimmy Malone, who is as crooked as every other Chicago cop until Capone becomes king of the underworld. "The film starts on the eve of Capone's arrival, and while Malone wasn't the most corrupt cop, he operated at a time when every cop was on the take," Levien said. "Once he crosses paths with Capone, he sees a level of violence and criminality that causes him to have a moral awakening." Let me begin by stating how upset I am with 20th Century Fox and their decision to have X-Men 3 be the last film in the X-Men series; therefore completing your standard trilogy. It seems to me that 20th Century Fox would rather let the film aspect of the franchise die rather than further deal with all the complications that have been occurring since the loss of Bryan Singer to Warner Bros' Superman Returns. 20th Century Fox has a franchise with endless possibilities and remnant visions of greatness, but they are still willing to throw that away. I know it is likely that there will be spin-offs, but it is hard to find comic book films at the caliber of X-Men 2: X-Men United; that was a great film!
The only way I am accepting that this is the last X-Men film is if all the characters achieve the powers that they carry in the comic books / cartoon and if the film runtime is over four hours in length. X-Men 3 is supposed to put some conclusion on the series while running through the Phoenix Saga. How is this possible considering the Phoenix Saga is a fairly large story on its own? When I first heard rumors that this was the last X-Men film I didn't want to believe it, but this re-post [SHH] of what Halle Berry had to say on the film was a taste of bitter reality:
