Ok, i'm a sucker for TV boxsets, and after hearing a lot of good shit about this, i just ordered the first season on dvd.
I love the Shield, and have seen a lot of comparisons between the two.
Now i just cant wait to get the dvd's through and start watching them!

The Wire is one of the best shows ever but it is nothing like The Shield. I like The Shield but if you're expecting them to be similar, you might be disappointed.Originally Posted by The-Last-Man

There is no comparison. I love the Shield, but it's nowhere's near the level the WIRE is.

I just plowed through S1 and watched the 1st 4 eps of season 2.
It's an amazing show. Seems very 'true to life'. The characters are people. Not supercops or stereotypes. Just people doing their jobs and all the BS associated with it.
I too, would like to know when S3 comes out on DVD. I can't find anything on it.
