!!!CAR ACCIDENT EXTRAVAGANZA!!!!
So I got me and JD got into a car accident yesterday on the way back to work from Fat Jacks in Center City--where we get our comix. I rear ended someone whilst trying to merge onto 76. The car did not get off @ the first available exit (grey's ferry) and kept trying to wave me on (not really over--more like "i have no insurance" sorta wave). But the best was yet to come. I was still in shock when this happened...and was attempting to get off @ grey's ferry when...

The hood of my car flew up and slammed into my windshield. I stopped and pulled over as far as I could w/o hitting anything. JD got out of the car and put the hood down but it would not stay clasped. We start driving again slowly b/c by this time we have passed the exit and the next exit is pretty far. And there's no shoulder on 76. And WHAM!!!! The windshield is slammed again by the hood of my car, splintering but not shattering the glass--so many pieces just held together by the pressure. I screamed. JD got out again and put the hood down. I have my hazards on, traveling at about 25 mph down Filthy's major highway, my foot is shaking so much I keep jumping in speed by accident and I'm crying so hard that pretty soon I'm not even taking any air in. Or rather I'm attempting to suck it down in great heaving yelps but I can't breathe no matter how hard I try. It was HORRIBLE. Absolute insanity. JD tried to calm me down, keep me slow (I have a leadfoot), and we got back to work where we figured we could report it to the police in the compound that we work in.

Nope--they're not a "real" police station so they couldn't help. I called 911, and my insurance co., and my mother, but in reverse order. So by the time I had to talk to the police I had told the story a few times. So I wasn't hyperventilating -NOR- crying uncontrollably. The car has been towed and its sure to be totalled. My parents are gonna be nice and get me a little used car but they can wait a whole month to hook that up--my license is gettind suspended in 2 weeks anway.

Well, work is a bus ride away, so we'll be just pounding pavement to the bus stop everyday. Or getting rides from the few friends that work and live around here.

As for other things--like going out to YORK to visit the 'rents and HELLTHORNE, and my friends in the burbs, etc. I DON'T KNOW!!! I was getting kinda used to knowing I"d have to be w/o my license b/c of my other troubles, but NO CAR?!? I just feel a lil bit trapped.

I'l pass on that one. That damned thing woulda come thru the winshield if it would have hit a third time. It was all a truly bizzare experience. I'm 32 and I've never broke a bone or was in an accident such as this. I guess I was due for a little "excitement". I think that I had just a mild concussion as I was sort of fuzzy the rest of that day. But knowing what to do when you have one, I stayed up until near 1 a.m. just in case and woke up fine the next moring for a nice brisk walk to work.

At least we have scenery. We get to take a short cut thru the Phillies stadium parking lots.

Thanks man. Nah--the guy still hasn't reported anything as far as we know. The only description I could give them was it was a red blazer with JERZEE plates. They were supposed to access the car today and let me know tomorrow if its totaled or not.
