THANKS MARVEL! (waaay less adds)

I just picked up my New Excalibur #2 and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #3 and there were far less adds in them. I'm assuming this is what Joey Q. was talking about before about making changes. they kept their word and marvel's books are looking like the best on the market again.

oh, and I did get my Powers issue too (but that never had adds to begin with)

Depends on the issue. New Warriors #6 only had 12 ads, a huge improvement!

but Ultimates #9 had 22 ads.

Well, I guess baby steps is progress.

After Bendis leaves Daredevil I'm only picking up new avengers I think from Marvel but i don't know how long that will last.

Oh, Thud Ultimates has been delayed for a while, so it has the old advert count.

I hope that's what it is. 12 ads per issue is acceptable, if Marvel did that on every issue I'd have no problem with them.

Wow, well, that's certainly a step in the right direction.

Of course, I guess this means price reduction isn't likely, which doesn't help all that much.

It is that.

The Marvel books have a fuckton less ads. I think the average is like 9 without the Ultimates included.

Ultimates was two months late and thus the amount of ads in that book was determined by October's standards which was the hight of the ad "controversy"

9 is if you don't count the two inside covers and the back cover. But I do, so it's 12 ads total per issue (since they are there, they count).

But like I said, 12 is fine. I never wanted anything as unreasonable as no ads, just less ads and better placement of the ads. If Marvel sticks with it, and doesn't slowly start increasing ad count again in the next few years, I'll happily support thier singles again.
