Praise for Manhunter #16
There were several books I bought this week that were midpoints of an arc. This issue was not only the best of them, it was the best book I read this week!
Here's the blurb about it I put in my LiveJournal:
"Manhunter #16: This is one of my new guilty pleasures. Johnny bugged me for months to read this book, but the solicits for it made it seem old, rehashed, and frankly, stupid. That couldn't be further from the truth. Andreyko shows the proper way to bolster the midpoint of an arc, filling every page with so much intrigue and subplot development that I was actually disappointed to reach the last page. The internal monologues he gives the characters are often insightful and hilarious. Something also needs to be said about Javier Pina's art. It seems to be a perfect match to Andreyko's writing, portraying the proper tone and mood effortlessly. I hope this book (with this team) sticks around for a long, long time."
Granted, only 20 or so people read my journal, but hey, a little free publicity, especially good press, is still welcome, right?
Anyway, just wanted to let you know how much I loved this issue, and how hard it's going to be to wait a month for the next.
