HELLBLAZER #201-206 by Mike Carey, Leonardo Manco, and Camuncoli/Ruggiero

    Anyone else reading this book?

I just read #201 EVENT HORIZON, REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL (#202-205) in which the children Constantine sired and the stand alone issue 206.

Event Horizon dealt with three thieves breaking into Constantine's storage building and taking a very nasty little piece of jewelry. Constantine tries to find it because whoever touches it and gives it away is in for a nasty revelation, fortunately for John...he never touched it. An excellent little horror tale.

Reasons To Be Cheerful deals with the three children Constantine unknowingly sired with a demoness and they come to destroy his world by killing everyone that ever came into contact with John. Constantine being the horrible bastard he is chooses those people he most cares about to save..NICE! Chaz is taken over by the demon Nergal (I believe) who is the father of the demoness so it's now a family thing. Gemma shows she is quite formidable herself and is definitely no damsel in distress.

Issue 206 is a one shot dealing with the aftermath of Chaz being taken over and how it has changed him; and I don't think his relationship will ever be the same again with his wife.

    One of Bradstreet's BEST covers!

I think Carey is doing a great job on Hellblazer...although I do believe his run is coming to an end soon.

Like Ennis and Azz he's told one HUGE story utilizing a smathering of storyline and single issue stories. I didn't warm up to Carey until Frusin came back, but after reading a long run of his comics saw what he was going for. There is a lot more about demons in his book.

I've been kinda cold on Carey's run maybe because I started with Azz's run, it just isn't bringing me in. Now Carey's run on the criminally underrated Lucifer is stuff I can get into.

I like anyone that's not Delano on Hellblazer. Carey is especially good at snarky dialogue in my opinion and has been doing a bang up job
