As for those people who lie about being the greatest magic players or friends with marvel editors I HATE THOSE STUPID PEOPLE!!!!

When i was in highschool i pretty much lived at my good friends card shop in town and i don't know HOW many people would come in and talk shit about being the greatest Magic player or ranked in the top 5 ECT. i just wanted to cry at how stupid they sounded too.

It was always fun to beat them in a game or watch the owner trounce the shit out of them in a game thought.

I hate my Diamond rep with a passion... I STILL have not recieved my New Avengers #10 variants... and I'm pretty positive now that I wont ever get them... after not showing up on last weeks invoice, I called and, HUGE surprise, my rep wasnt available.. so I asked for his boss.. this stupid bitch told me the EXACT same thing he did "well, the computer shows that you should be getting them". So I asked her to call the warehouse and ask them where they are. "I dont know what warehouse they're coming from", so I told her to call all of the warehouses and find my copies... she said she'd look into it and get back to me. Did she? Fuck no.

Round two (actually 4 or 5), I was shorted ALL of my copies of Rann Thanagar War and Uncanny X-Men... I was told in Chicago that in a case like that, my rep is to have them second day aired to me so I will have them by Friday. I told them that the second day airing wasnt needed, that I just wanted them by next week... so I get a confirmation of my re-order (which is another complaint all together) and the Rann Thanagar shows as being "unavailable locally" which means they have to get it from another warehouse.. if they have them, and I probably wont get them next week...

I'm going to the bitches boss tomorrow if everything isnt fixed, then calling Marvel to see if they realized how shitty Diamond is handeling their product... a lot of good incentives are if Diamonds doesnt bother to fucking send them...

Second... I am SO fucking sick of people around here... We have been asked several times "did you go apply for food stamps/fema/red cross/ yet"? Uh, no.. our home wasnt damaged and we didnt even lose the food in our fridge... no reason to. "well, they dont know that", "everyone else is" "you know all of the n*****s are doing it, so I did it to" "its free money", "you evacuated, so you deserve it"

Essentially stealing from my friends who gave their hard earned money and donated their time and talent? Fuck that! It fucking pisses me off that I have to watch my own family and friends stoop to being low life criminals and ghetto trash to steal a little money from aid groups.. and stopping that amount of money getting into the hands of people WHO ACTUALLY FUCKING NEED IT!!!! Someone tell me why Martha fucking Stewart is on my TV on a reality show? Is this how we handle upper class white criminals now? Give them fucking TV shows? Why do people come into a comic shop and insist on making up stories? Or bragging about how much they spend on comics? Or how many they have? Or insist that I'm making up stories when I tell them about a creator that I've met?

In the last week I had customers :

brag about having over a thousand comics to his wife, but loud enough for me to hear... and she told him "why are you telling me that, I know how many you have, stupid"... I looked up and said "you're making me feel like a complete geek over here.. I've got like 22,000.

brag about how he spends "a thousand dollars a month on comics" but then his wife tells him "you know, you can only get three books this month" and then pays in change...

tell me how they placed 8th in the world in Magic and how they get into comic cons for free to sign autographs...

say "bullshit" when, while talking about Sin City, I commented that I had met Frank Miller in Chicago and that Tonia got a sketch... so I pulled up the old Photobucket and showed him the pics we took with him and the sketch... his response.. "photoshop" . It wasnt until I showed him the rest of the pics and sketch collection that he believed me...

while watching me ink, telling me that he had worked for Marvel as an "idea man"... basically, coming up with things for the writer to write about... but he quit recently... when I asked who he worked under, he said "CD Lebuski" So I asked him when he quit, he said "a few weeks back" so I asked him if he realized that C "B" left Marvel a number of months back...

I too occasionally get a customer who is in rare form. I usually do a lot of smiling and nodding, but sometimes you gotta stop the presses on them. Sometimes I run a stonewall and remain totally unaffected by the name dropping antics. The pokerface is my favorite super-power that I've gained as a retailer. Attention whores cannot abide the pokerface.

You coming to Heroes in Charlotte next year? Huge guest list and its like an hour and a half from my shop!

When its good, its great. When its bad well....help is not coming and no one can hear you scream anyway. Its that bad. And on top of distribution snafus sometimes there is shoplifting, customers having all star psychotic episodes, children and the spilling of drinks, interludes with the homeless, journeyman drifters, public drunkeness, and my personal favorite the epileptic seizure of random customers. I got that when I was all alone and had only been on the job a month or so. That could have been really bad.

Now who wants to work in a comic shop! Form a single file line!

It wasnt that he claimed to have placed in worlds... it was all of the "perks" he was claiming to have gotten... the lines of autograph seekers, walking up to a comic con in New Orleans (that I actually worked the door and which didnt HAVE any Magic things going on) and being let in for free if he sat and signed autographs... he's forever making up shit...
