It is a thing of great asskickingness.
I picked up the improved First Season DVD the other day (Mini-series plus the first 13 episodes) and DAMN!!! It is extra-crispy entertainment.
I have watched through the 6th episode, with commentaries, and Ron Moore and Dave Eick really have their shit together. They have put together an astounding body of work in a very fast period of time. Most of that cast were unknowns, with the obvious exceptions of Olmos and McDonnell, and they are so damn strong. Plus the stuff revealed in commentary about how the dayplayers turned into regulars (Helo and the Nuggets).
I didn't really dig the mini the first time out, but when they started up the season with 33 and Water, I was sold. Since then I have really made a point to see it, and I work weekend nights. It is the reason we upped to DVR at the Tweener household.
Effects, story, performance, all top notch.
Of course the last time I starteda thread like this I got shouted down, but I'm ready to represent. Any other BG peeps out there?

Yep! I love the show. Have said it a few times already. I am really glad to see Helo on a regular basis now. There weren't enough guys at the start of the show!
Loving the second season, too. No complaints at all.

The best current sci-fi show on TV
I picked up my set this afternoon. I can't wait to watch the commentaries.

Killer, killer show. And I was not happy with the mini-series, but the ongoing is just amazing.
Now Moore needs to give us Dragonriders of Pern. We've been more than patient. And he's got the capital of a runaway success on his hands to barter with. Just go to Paramount with it instead of WB (idiots) or FOX (HUGE idiots). I hear tell Paramount's looking for an asskicking Sci-Fi show nowadays. Run it on the same night as Veronica Mars and you have a night to contend with. Especially in the absence of any Joss Whedon shows running agin em.
I feel remarkably unburdened with the need to explain, justify or defend anything I say, feel or do online to any self-entitled anonymous snarkwit who feels I owe their point of view a form of cogent argument or debate. season finally of series 2 is on tonight and i can't f'in wait lol
Oh hell yeah!! I forgot about that too! Nice how they established in the last episode and the one before it how resources and manpower are stretched to their limits without hope of relief or replacements... Or IS IT?
And that's all I'll say on that matter. Those who know about tonight's episode know what I'm talking about. Those who don't? You have a nice surprise in the wings.
