For a second, I thought it said "Honestly, what's up with the Green Bay hate"....I thought the world was ending![]()

I'm seriously curious, and don't want this to be a whole big thing, but I've noticed lots of people hate on Green Day around here. What's the deal? People saying they are sellouts or corporate punk or not punk at all... it just flabbergasts me. Every track on their newest album is gold, and the writing is brilliant, pretty much everything punk is supposed to stand for. Is it because they're popular?
I just find it ironic that punk apparently has a status quo.
They say they're punk and they are not. They are only marginally less annoying with their claims of punkhood than the Lesser Simpson whore and that other chick who looks like a boy.
I hate Green Bay. The Packers can go fuck themselves.Originally Posted by Brian Defferding

Nothing personal, just a Vikings fan, so you know.. there's that. I seriously think Brett Favre is a good guy and wish him the best, but I hope he fucking dies.![]()
Back to the topic at hand...
Living in Berkeley, watching their progession, I have nothing but respect.

I like them okay, but they are no longer a punk band. And though you may find it odd that punk has a "status quo" I am guessing you don't think 50 cent is punk right? Well Boulevard of Broken dreams ain't punk either.
I like Green Day fine by the way.
