It makes me happy.

I hope some crazy fiasco happens like the episode of Seinfeld where Ellen gets all obsessed with the video store guy's pick of the week.

does any shop not separate indie and "mainstream"? I think that would be really cool...

mine doesn't...it's just alphabetical, regardless of who publishes it... the hardcovers are on a stand of their own, then trades are put out on the racks with the singles... works pretty well.

Actually, our 'alternative' section is the largest section of the store, bigger than Marvel and DC put together.

I'm really bummed that I still haven't been able to get down to your store yet. Sounds like it rocks.
I went into the store close to my house that shall remain nameless on Saturday afternoon to pick up Desolation Jones and Fell and ended up picking up more than I meant to because they have a big sale on right now...
BUT, I dragged my fiancee and the boy along and the main topic of conversation between the 3 35+ year old men in the shop was how they're only buying DC this summer because of Infinite Crisis, but that if DC kills Wonder Woman they will jump back to Marvel in protest.
I mean... they live with me and know I'm not like that, but it was still vaguely creepy and embarrasing.
