Are you going to Across the Narrows
I'm thinking of springing for the new hardcover coming out this week- but i've never read any of the series- how is it?

There is another hardcover coming out?
Will this one have the same extras as the Graphiti designs version?
Enjoy the chlamydia Lucielle.
Earth X is great.
I may pick this up. But I want to finish getting the Daredevil HCs first.
I liked it - some cool takes on the future Marvel universe and a neat explanation of the relationship between Galactus and the Celestials. The series went downhill after that but Earth X was worthwhile.
I love Earth X. It really gets to the heart of the characters. It got really bloated during Universe X and Paradise X, but the original Earth X is pretty solid.
Krueger has a way of finding a phrase or situation that has fit each character all along. A lot of it is really quite clever.
Earth X is really a story about 1960's (maybe creeping a bit into the '70's) Marvel characters. They mostly get put through hell. It's like a (bit over-) long Kingdom Come.
Though the story continued in Universe/Paradise X, Earth X itself is nicely self-contained.
The denouement is a bit contingent on some comics I never really read, but it was still good and interesting.
Though Ross didn't do interior art, Jean Paul Leon's work really grew on me. He's got a realistic-through-abstract style that someone here described as "Ross after being photostatted", and I agree.
This will be the first time the whole story is reprinted - #0, 1-12, X, the sourcebook, and the #1/2 issue along with the Graphitti only epilogue. Graphitti printed it in black and white, #1/2 was out of order and was missing the word balloons on one page.
The Graphitti edition did have breathtakingly complete - and color - extras, though. Every single promo piece I ever saw was in there - even Ross' painting of the Earth X guys fighting the Kingdom Come guys. Other than that, though - the Graphitti editon was a disaster.
So, if Marvel got the extras right - this should be a fun book, finally given a good presentation.
I take it the Planet X part is a joke.Originally Posted by Baron Von Ruthless
As for the question, Earth X is very good, and I recommend it in any of its forms. I have it as a Trade Paperback, and Graphitti Design's black & white hardcover.
wanna go halfsies? you pay half, and i read it.Originally Posted by TIP
