    more mythology questions, since i love mythology too.

    why do you think the flood myth permiates so many different cultures? there's the the story of gilgamesh that has a character in it that survived a great flood, the flood story from the hebrew bible and a chinese flood story. do you think it was spread through the trade routes, actually happened or reflects early civilization's dependence on rivers and their flood cycles?

    do you prefer the original greek or romanized versions of western myths?

    have you studied any eastern mythology? if so, from what cultures?
