Dear Mr. David Mack,

I want to start off by saying I'm sorry. Over the years I have known you, you have given me free copies of your books each and everytime I see you and for whatever reason I have only read very few. From what I have read I loved how flowery and poetic your writing can be. Not only your pictures with words but the story within the story that you have to peel back the layers to see. After years of your books falling into the dreaded "to read pile" that follows me home from every con I finally got the chance to sit down and read issues 1-4 of the Alchemy and I must say in the utmost sincere words that I am so sorry it took me so long to discover something so multifaceted, so poetic, so fucking beautiful that words themselves could not do justice to how majestic and awe inspiring the work truly is.

Yes, I'm a writer and I felt like using big words there but in base language, you fucking kicked my bitch ass all around the block and still brought me home with not even a scratch for the worse. Fucking WOW is a much more accurate description of how I felt once I finished the fourth issue.

You made a books, that made me look within myself, that made me want to encourage my kids to follow their dreams as I have followed mine using the simplist of exercises that I had long forgotten existed in the haze of childhood, you made me want to strive for something deeper and even more compeling, in ways that can reach people and touch them deep in the essence of their souls and bring out the inspiration that can only come from enjoying something superbly created. Something that oozes a master of his artform who is willing to go beyond himself and become even that much more than he once was.

Like I said. I am sorry it took me this long to truly discover Kabuki. Because it is wonderful and I love it in ways that defy anything I can write on a message board or e-mail.

Thank you Mr. David Mack. I apologize that from this day forward when I meet you at a show, whenever I shake your hand, that there will be a big piece of me that will always look at you in awe and amazement that the world was lucky enough to have been grazed with your presence. As have I.

We now take you back to your hip dancing, leg backwards, beast impersonating, masterbating eeeeekke ekeeeekk sound master, story telling guru, and fighter for truth and justice and the American Craig Maloof way...

I think is career is complete. Every artist waits for the one review, critique, commentary, mush-fest to say, I have finally arrived and just be satisfied to sit back and know that life is good. I think you have just complished that for David here.
