How Many TV Shows Are Filmed in Canada?

I've been noticing that a lot of American TV shows are currently being filmed in Canada. I think this is great - the Canadian film industry needs the work and I'm happy to see that American (and other) productions are coming up here despite the fact that the Canadian and US dollars are almost at par. Back in the 1980s, US productions came here to take advantage of the considerable difference in currency values, but they have stayed for the expertise that developed.

At any rate, I was noticing that the new JJ Abrams TV show, "Almost Human" is being filmed in Vancouver. Last night, I caught "Hannibal" and it is being filmed in Toronto. Here is a list of the shows I can think of, off the top of my head, that are being filmed in Canada right now:

    Hannibal
    Almost Human
    Once Upon a Time
    Being Human
    Orphan Black
    Haven

Some that had been filmed in Canada:

The X-Files (for most of its run)
    Fringe
    Stargate (all of them)

If you can add to the list, please do.

    Vancouver

    21 Jump Street (TV version)
    Airwolf
    Battlestar Galactica (remake)
    Dark Angel
    Eureka
    MacGyver
    Millennium
    The Outer Limits (1995 version)
    Highlander : The Series
    Tru Calling

    And that is just Vancouver!

I think Vancouver is the capital of TV series production in Canada.
    Independence... Nah!!!

    These were shot in Vancouver:
    The L Word
    Pretty Little Liars
    Arrow
    Smallville
    Supernatural
    Psych
    Andromeda
    Battlestar Galactica
    Eureka
    Fringe

Vancouver is a pretty popular place. But T-Dot is pretty popular as well.

    Filmed in Toronto
    Flashpoint
    Mutant X
Degrassi (every single one of them)
    Murdock Mysteries
    Warehouse 13 (I think)
    Nikita
    Beauty and the Beast
    Prison Break (so I've heard)
    Orphan Black
    Alphas
    Rookie Blue

I know there's more but I just can't remember all of them at the moment...

In addition to the others listed, I know Caprica was as well.

Once upon a time every dollar spent in Canada magically became 1.30. I wonder if the United States dollar tanking, to the point where the Canadian dollar was worth more than the dollar at one point, has seen the film industry cut back filming there because they are no longer gaining a 30 percent automatic boost of every dollar spent.

There was a short-lived series a few years ago where they discussed why American shows shoot in Canada so often. They chalked it up to areas like Vancouver supposedly lacking any sort of unique, iconic architecture, which meant it could reasonably look like any American city the producers wanted it to just so long as they knew which shots to avoid.

Lost Girl is pretty good actually. I didn't include it on my list as it is a Canadian show. If those were on the list then the Moose Jaw 9 o'clock local news bulletin would need to be added.
    Independence... Nah!!!

Probably because I lived in New Mexico for five years, but that's why I found some of the ground shots near the end of Avengers kind of funny because they were using Albuquerque to stand in for New York. Not the aerial shots, obviously, but it at least jumped out to me they were in the southwest, not that it hampered my enjoyment of the movie at all.
