I remember a WOW player getting to max level without killing anything, back when I was playing, around 2008/2009.

Even more impressive was a girl who levelled to max without ever dying. If she died, no matter how high she was, she rerolled.

Extra Credits on non-combat gaming. Not about pacifist runs, but musing on if and how mechanics other than violence can be as engaging in that visceral way as violence.

Edit: Here, this might work better.

STO (Star Trek Online) now has a ton of stuff to do in the game that doesn't involve combat. I haven't played it in a couples years but players kept asking for non violent Solutions so they came up with a ton of Diplomatic stuff to do in the game.

I have both violent and 'non-violent' type of games. I really love playing the games where the character has to choose whether or not to kill or not. Like Dishonored and Infamous. I really like how you have to really think for a moment before you decide who lives or dies. It's much more challenging and fun when I have to think of ways to disarm an enemy without killing them.
