And the other introducing our lead character
Hey everyone! Amanda Rachels (girlfriend in a coma) and I are going to be launching our own kickstarter this January for the 4 issue project "Flesh of White." The story is one we've discussed since we first met, and we're very proud of the way it's come together. The storytelling follows supernatural events, but is grounded in real events that are occurring in Africa today.
We're going to be sharing character profiles and links to reports about the real events. Even if you can't help support the project, the news is worth knowing so I encourage everyone to have a look.
The Story:
When an infant with albinism is selected as a Witch Doctor’s next victim, his mother must sacrifice all that she’s known to protect her child.
Rehema and Idi celebrate their son’s birth, but must weigh their hopes against unanticipated fears. Their son, Kwasi, was born with albinism.
In their home, the child is safe, but as the world learns of his birth, they will have to fight to protect him. Rehema and Idi live in a part of Tanzania where superstition and fear guide the hearts of man. Those with albinism are not looked upon as people, but instead are viewed as “ghosts”. They are maimed, mutilated, and killed for their flesh and used as components in spells.
When outsiders learn of the infant’s existence, word filters back to a local Witch Doctor. Rehema and Idi must take extreme action to keep Kwasi safe as The Doctor and his Harvester come for the infant’s white flesh.

This looks fantastic. Are you launching as single issues to then lead to a trade, or will buying the book as a complete graphic novel be one of the tiers on the Kickstarter? I love the sound of it but I don't really buy single issues anymore (space/storage concerns more than anything!).
Good luck(Great title by the way)
Thank you!
Today we linked to an Aljazeera report. The policies in Tanzania have been shifting in the past five years, but even now the situation is very frightening.
Not a Flesh of White update, but my new comic series from Alterna Comics is now available on Comixology.
There's also a preview available for free - The Black Hand.
Today's update includes a write-up at Bleeding Cool.
