I lost my Dad around Christmas time. But this...to lose a child or those who lost adult loved ones, like this...I'm near tears even contemplating it. It's utterly horrific.

I am sure it is the same for you, but whenever something like this happens I can't help but imagine it happening to one of my boys.

I am so tempted to use some words that would probably get me banned this is how angry this story makes me they're kids and yeah I'm right there with the first poster any one who try's to use the 2nd amendment to say that if the school would have not had this problem by having guns should be thrown naked with both a rabid badger and a wolverine JEEZ.

Imagine my terror in the few seconds before I checked what school it was. It could have been one of their schools. And then I imagine what terror I would feel if I clicked and found out it *was* my kid's school.

I just found out about it!. . I was doing volunteer Xmas gift-wrapping at the Austin State School. . and came in and saw it on the news.

what's this talk about a 2nd shooter?. . . is it confirmed it was just the one guy (who is reported as dead)?

One shooter is dead.

After the shooting the cops searched the woods behind the school. They escorted one man out of the woods in handcuffs. That is all we really know.

I'm torn between feeling sick and feeling red hot anger. I'm with Craig, if anyone, anyone defends the notion that it's okay for people to buy glocks so easily, for g-d Walmart to sell ammo...I will lose it. My daughter is home from school today, sick. I'm so grateful she's here, I'm so grateful it didn't happen at her school, I wonder when it will happen. Because, it can happen anywhere at anytime and there's nothing I can do to protect her.

That's horrifying and I feel for the parents as well as anyone that thought it might be their kids' school.

They're saying at this point that one of the teachers at the school was the gunman's parent and was killed in the incident, and apparently they've found another body at the gunman's home in New Jersey.
