Take care of yourself Cass. My sincerest condolences.
Got a call this morning from my Mum, my father passed away overnight.
A couple of you know what has been going on and why I haven't been posting here much; my Dad has been very sick for the past month and it looked like he could go any day during that time, he was finally able to find some rest early this morning. I haven't really told anyone here what was going on the past few weeks because I didn't want any sympathy; I just wanted to deal with everything by continuing my life as I always have. Anyone acting any different around me would have just upset me more, and I didn't want to break down in-front of anyone.
I have requested that one of my The Gathering stories I was working on during this time be delayed until the next book, because I wanted to be there for my family and wasn't sure where each day would lead. I have however been throwing myself into other work to distract myself from everything. As a result of this I think I've produced more art this past couple of weeks than I have for a while, my garden also looks amazing and I still have dirt under my nails.
My husband Rowan has been so fantastic during this whole thing. We just got back from spending the day with my family, my Brother is staying the night with our Mum and we all took her loads of food.
I still have a Con appearance next weekend at Armageddon Expo in Melbourne which I will not be cancelling, the best thing for me right now is to try and get back to my schedule, art commitments and back to some feeling of normalcy.
Take care of yourself Cass. My sincerest condolences.

Sorry to here that Cass, I've had my share of death this year and the last, so you have my sympathies.
You probably don't want here this, but I don't think burying yourself in your work, and not giving yourself time to grieve, is a good idea, it never turns out well.
But take care of yourself in whatever way you decide to handle this.
Sorry for your loss, but yay for supportive spouses.

All my condolences.
